ATV Riding in the Surroundings of Pinamar

During the Pinamar summer, in addition to enjoying its beaches, its gastronomy and its night life, exclusive outings in quad vehicles will enrapture and astonish those who dare to live this experience.

In order to make our wishes come true, we made contact with the people from All Terrain, a company that operates in the area with exclusive quad vehicles of all kind of cylinders, so that both grown-ups and children may enjoy the excursions they offer.

We were extremely hooked up by the quad ride we had enjoyed on the Villa Gesell dunes. So, we did not want to miss the opportunity of repeating such experience as we based ourselves in Pinamar.

Thus, we met Gabriel, José, Gladys and funny four-year-old Jerónimo, who also joined this adventure. They provided us with 90, 200, 250 and 300 c.c. quad vehicles at the shop. After listening to a short safety chat and outlining the circuit we would complete –which promised giant dunes, large and quiet beaches, and a leafy pine forest–, we left on the quads along Av. Enrique Shaw heading northwards, to the border of the seaside resort.

In a row, and paying special attention to traffic, we started to leave civilization behind.

The paved road came to an end after we passed by the old bus terminal and by the entrance to the new golf course.

We were welcome by a quiet sand street with thick trees which cups seemed to hug in the heights. After passing by the Santa Teresa del Niño Jesús chapel, established on January 12, 2002, and the enigmatic Capotesta house, built on the top of a dune very close to the sea, we went directly into the large beaches of Northern Pinamar.

Reaching this area was a unique sensation. The desert landscape that surrounded us, the cold waters of the Atlantic, with its white foam caused by the breaking of the waves and its continuous sound, merged in a beautiful impression that seduced as from the very first moment.

Almost without thinking, we gave the quad engine some revolutions and let ourselves be carried away by speed, which had been trying to assert its authority for a while. Our next objective would be to climb the huge dunes which seemed to be challenging us to conquer them.

We started to gain ground among multiple zigzaging imaginary routes. Exciting ascents and descents took control of the moment until we reached the top of a dune that let us see everything around us. A perennial and silent forest of pines, acacias and eucaliptus stretched everywhere behind us. To our sides, endless yellow sands formed one of the most beautiful sites in the coast. In front, a brave indigo sea gave us a postcard that remains in my retinas even today as I am writing this note.

After beholding for a few minutes, which in fact seemed to have no end, Gabriel invited us to see the “aerial” acrobatics he would perform with his quad. Time for vertigo, speed and adrenaline. The young pilot does not take too long to show his driving skills and, among enthusiastic screams and clapping, we watched the various jumps he dared to make from the steep dunes.

Following the frantic demonstration, we remained astonished. We returned along an alternative path that led us across the dark shadows of the Pinamar forest.

Enjoying the forest on a quad deserves a separate chapter. The hardly outlined pseudo circuit enables us to make contact with nature in its pure state. We started to find our way among pines and pine needles that covered the copper-colored ground, admiring a different Pinamar. The pleasant anecdotes retelling what we had experienced arose on the way back to All Terrain, giving us the feeling that everything was happening faster.

Once again, we experienced the speed and vertigo generated by quad riding on Argentinian beaches. Once again, we indulged ourselves with the sight of its natural beauty from the rapid and “fidgety” perspective. Amusement guaranteed!!
