La residencia Roque Suárez es parte del patrimonio de Mar del Plata. Ubicada en una esquina privilegiada, las terrazas ofrecen una vista magnífica del mar.
Patrimon, history and sea view
The facade of the boutique hotel is a sample of the painteresquista landscape that characterized the architecture of Mar del Plata of the twentieth century. Many of the villas and chalets of this stream make up the heritage of the city as axes of its foundation.
Although many emblematic constructions have been disappearing by the advancement of urban tracing, some of the houses of Playa Grande near the Torreón del Monje and Varese beach that are preserved are works of Alula Baldassarini, an engineer from Italy, who integrated the typical "Mar del Plata stone" into his architectural designs. One of those houses is the Roque Suarez residence.
Curzio Benedetti and his wife Franca landed in Mar del Plata in the winter of 1947. The family has a history of immigration, work and effort like so many others. With great skills for commerce, the couple opened different ventures until turning an old gym into an a la carte restaurant. It was the birth of Uncle Curzio, in homage to an uncle who died in the Second War. Then they bought the house of the most recognized corner of Playa Grande, where the gastronomic venture continued and grew. Handcrafted capeletis were the special dish for diners and show dinners were the surprise led by Curzio himself.
Over the years Uncle Curzio became a must for tourists and locals, with star guests, contests, traditional and private events. The best gastronomy and artists of the moment were in the halls of Tío Curzio until it became a vital center of Mar del Plata.
With the atlantic curtain and Varese beach, guests of the boutique hotel have three categories of apartments: VIP, premium and standard, with capacity for up to 4 people, located inside the heritage house with private terraces overlooking the sea.
