Santa Elena Carnivals

Location: Corsódromo Santa Elena, Boulevard Lisandro de La Torre
Date: From 01/27/2018 - Thru 02/24/2018

During the summer months, this beautiful district close to La Paz celebrates its own carnival full of glow and joy.

Famous in the Province of Entre Ríos for its carnivals, Santa Elena is a city whose parades and floats became popular a long time ago, when by word of mouth, its carnivals gradually became a classic.

The comparsas called Babiyú and Porasí 2 paved the way for the new Emperatriz and Ita-Porá, and succeeded in surprising both locals and visitors with the traditional parade and other attractions offered by the carnival.

During the weekends of January and February, when the local and guest comparsas start to parade to the rhythm of the Brazilian samba music and the candombe, typical of the Río de la Plata estuary, the audience mingles and takes part in the dancing as another protagonist of the show, providing the identity that characterizes the carnivals of Entre Ríos.

The glowing sequins and colorful feathers tinge the City of Santa Elena with summer. By the river, an amusing, cozy and family show is accompanied with good mate or some spirit to welcome the famed Rey Momo.
