Rancho Don Daniel
Horseback Riding Trips
Calle S/N al final de Valle del Sol, Potrerillos, Mendoza
Rancho Don Daniel is a family-run mountain ranch located in Valle del Sol, deep in the Andes mountain range, a few kilometers from Potrerillos, Mendoza. Led by a gaucho family with over sixteen years of roots in the Cordón del Plata, the ranch offers direct contact with mountain life: animals raised on the land, home-cooked food, and guided excursions led by those who actually live there.
The services offered by Rancho Don Daniel cover various forms of adventure and nature tourism in the Mendoza Andes:
• Horseback riding in the Cordillera
• Guided mountain trekking
• Traditional asado and regional food cooked over fire
• Field day experiences for groups and corporate events
The horseback riding routes cross ravines, valleys, and trails throughout the Cordón del Plata, with half-day and full-day options, as well as a two-day horse riding trip that includes camping in the wild and access to viewpoints near 4,000 meters above sea level. All rides are guided by Daniel, who knows these mountains thoroughly.
Trekking includes guided hikes of three to four hours into the heart of the Andes, with circuits reaching 2,950 meters above sea level on the ascent to Cerro Mailhos. All routes are led by guides trained in the area and are suitable for different levels of physical fitness.
Regional cuisine is a central part of the experience: fire-cooked asado, cold cuts and homemade bread, mate with freshly made tortas fritas, and Mendoza wine, all prepared at the ranch by Marisa, the family's cook and host. The recipes are passed down through generations and served in the natural surroundings of the mountain post.
For groups and companies, Rancho Don Daniel organizes customized field day experiences that combine outdoor activities with traditional food, adapted to the number of participants and the purpose of the gathering.
