Saint Rita's Sanctuary in Ferri

Celebrations and pilgrimages are held throughout the year at the District of Ferri. They are shared by a great deal of faithful followers.

Ferri is a district lying next to Cipolletti. It is over 100 years old and has a sanctuary that has been raised to pay homage to its Patron Saint: Rita of Cascia. This is a very small construction with white walls and housing a chapel with the image of the figure that has been named "Saint of the impossible".

We took advantage of the annual pilgrimage in honor of the virgin to accompany a long procession of religious people. Its image was carried by some of them on their shoulders while prayers and religious chants were heard all around. Once inside the temple, mass was celebrated and testimony was given of actions taken by the saint to help believers, who in turn strengthened their faith.

Mr. and Mrs. Lamolla commanded the construction of the building in 1973. The simplicity of the design and its details are in accordance with Saint Rita's life. Her followers ask for her help or thank the blessings she bestows upon them inside the temple.

We returned to Cipolletti once the mass was over. Our mood had been renovated by the religious activity we had shared.
