 an Miguel de Tucumán is the capital city and heart of Tucumán Province. Popularly known as "El Jardín de la República" ( The garden of the Republic) because in Springtime there are flowers everywhere - in the parks, balconies, streets and gardens- , the city is situated in the northeast of Argentina at 447 m above sea level.
Regarding topography , there are almost all existing landscapes ranging from high mountains to plains and including woods, forests, scrubs, fertile plains and even desert areas. Due to this fact, there are eleven micro-climates around the city. The average temperature in Summer rates 26º C and in Winter rates 15º C.
You can arrive to this place with city life and beautiful landscapes by plane getting to " Teniente Benjamín Matienzo" International Airport which is a few kilometres away from the city.
San Miguel de Tucumán is chosen by tourists because of the historical and archaeological interest and also because of the variety of landscapes and climates .
Being the land of the sugar cane and setting of the Independence Day, San Miguel de Tucumán City provides places to visit such as Obispo Colombres House, the historical House of the Independence Declaration, the outstanding Cathedral, Casa Padilla Museum, El Cadillal dam and beautiful sites only a few kilometers away from the city where residential areas are settled.
There are also archaeological circuits, jesuitic tracks and a great variety of posibilities to enjoy Adventure Tourism in fourtrax vans, climbing or hicking activities in Calchaquí valleys.
