Its shores are ideal for long walks or watching the vastness of the sea from the cliffs where the waves have carved real caves or grottos year after year. These formations have given the name to this area (Grutas
stands for grotto in Spanish).
Recreational activities represent another tourist attraction in Las Grutas. The sunshine is enjoyed until very late in the afternoon which favors the practice of a great deal of adventurous sports. Likewise, in some opportunities, silence and the appreciation of nature rule over the scene.

Nautical activities, such as windsurfing, jet-ski riding, water ski and SCUBA diving, are especially chosen by visitors, whereas fishing fans will find a great deal of snook, white sea bream, sole, anchovy, salmon, silverside, dusky grouper and comber in the surroundings of Las Grutas. They may fish either on boats or from the shore, whether on the beach or the cliffs.
