CASINOS of Argentina

Temple of Doom, some might say. Churches opening their gates to Heaven, some might answer. The truth is that casinos are present at any tourist destination in our beautiful Argentina and they have become an attraction themselves. They have succeeded in transforming themselves so as provide amusement and entertainment, keeping gambling as a reason for gathering and enhancing other activities for visitors to find in these venues a place to stay. And like my friend Andrés Calamaro says, a place where chance is at arm's length:

Sometimes waiting for an opportunity,
it is not seen and I quit
and you walk around so proud, you never let me know
That you were mine that summer.

Looking at the swallows in the sky,
no other swallows seen at arm's length
this is when stupidity beats
Luck, which never comes if we are waiting.

How? When? And why?
too many questions for fate
sometimes we are thin and other times nothing to do
'cos we must walk before we start to run.

Guilt is not a generous invention
and time is a tremendous rascal invention,
maybe it is enough to choose,
because good luck goes straight past otherwise.
