If you are going on a short horseback excursion, it is not necessary to know how to ride. Excursions of one or more days are advisable for experienced riders to avoid being exhausted at the end of the day.
When hiring this kind of tours, it is a good idea to verify the quality of the riding harnesses. It is better to use saddles and long stirrups to climb slopes, whereas if you are going to ride along the plain, simple saddle and trappings very well-adjusted to the cinchón (kind of girth) will be enough to enjoy the expedition without any difficulty.
