To get to this singular lake from Esquel you must take route 40, turn to the east passing by Tecka to Gobernador Costa, then take debris route 19 to Río Pico, and drive 250 km.
After 7 km. is this shallow picturesque lake where you can do fly fishing.
The last sector is irregular, ideal for 4x4 driving, in an environment where the steppe gives way to the prairie. One kilometer before arriving, you will see the lake in a depression surrounded by a small forest and low mountains. |

Here you can do catch-and-release fly fishing, and take some very exclusive photographs. |

You can catch specimen between 2.5 kg. and 6 kg., particularly rainbow trout, which are very fond of the mussels on the bottom of the lake.
We recommend you use three lines: a floating one, a submergible one and a mixed one.
The hook in the fly should not have a fin so that the fish can easily be liberated. As regards equipment, you can use a light one, up to Nº 6, floats, and wear some good waders. |

If you observe the nymphs in the area you will notice that there are scud flies and dragonflies.
The ideal time to visitlake Tres is from December to the end of the season, when there is good fishing. |
