Use the Tourism office as your starting point. Follow Avenida 7 Lagos up to Plaza de las Colectividades, then turn right along Cacique Atriao Street (gravel) and follow it for 1 kilometer. The road to your right leads to Mount Belvedere. Turn left and you will cross the Paisil stream.
Continue along this old road until you reach the Epu Lafquen neighborhood and the Correntoso Camping Site. |

Leaving the camping site behind you will come across the old bridge on the Correntoso River. This river must be probably one of the shortest in the world (132 Mts.) and one of the most famous among anglers.
Continue walking until you reach pavement and turn left. You will go across a very high bridge from which you will have a magnificent view on Lake Nahuel Huapi, Lake Correntoso and the surrounding mountains. |

The hotel you see bellow is Hotel Correntoso. This hotel was built in 1922 and its owners were pioneers Rosa and Primo Capraro who as far back as 1927 welcomed the first tourists. They came by boat from Bariloche for their famous homemade cakes and tea.
To return to the old road you must enter Barrio Villa Correntoso. After 200 meters turn left and then right again until you reach a small square named after Don Primo Capraro.
As was mentioned before, Don Primo Capraro was an opened-minded pioneer who promoted tourism in the area and is one of the few that signed the Foundation Act of the village. |

From the small square you continue the walk for 6 kilometers. The land is now for sale and the area is called Las Bandurrias. It used to belong to Don Primo Capraro and another Italian called Baratta. They had installed a Lumber mill and an electricity plant. They also brought in goods from Bariloche in a boat called "El Cachirulo" |

Continue your walk until you reach a gate. Once over it you will notice that the road becomes a path due to the growth of the surrounding vegetation. This fact adds extra charm to the adventure.
You will come across the bridge over Arroyo La Rana. The stream comes from a nearby pond, which gets frozen in wintertime.
Now you are at Mirador del Espejo. Form this look out point you will see the road leading to Chile and the road that leads both to Villa Traful and to San Martín de los Andes. |
