As regards horse riding in Villa La Angostura, the best thing you can do is to hire the services of "Tero" Bogani from Cabalgatas Correntoso, who offers some dream-like circuits in the area, where you can train to go on a three day outing through incredible forests and hillsides.
We recommend you start with a four hours ride to Cerro Beldevere and Cascada Inacayal, where you will visit some beautiful panoramic points. Horses are equipped with the best riding gear: saddle, stirrups, sweat cloth and blanket, all specially chosen for these winding trails. The guide will tell you about the flora, fauna and geography of this lenga forest. |

You will be told about a lichen known as old man´s beard, which grows only in pristine environments, an indication of the purity of this place and an invitation to fill your lungs with this unpolluted air.
As we go on marching, we climb a steep hillside to a viewpoint where the air caresses our faces. A striped woodpecker is making a hole in the hard ñire wood to get worms to eat. This small bird has a very peculiar skull with liquid between the bone and the brain to soften the effect of the strikes on the hard wood trees.
We soon reach 1200 meters above sea level. A time for contemplation. From Mirador Beldevere we get a great view of lakes Correntoso and Nahuel Huapi. |

Then we will see mounts Dormilón, Tres Hermanas, Pantojo, Tiltis, Campana and Macal in Chile, all white with their snow peaks.
We take some time to rest while the horses pasture. If it is midday, we take a snack with a glass of wine, and if in the afternoon, we have some delicious "tortafritas" with mate.
Then we start off again to Cascada Inacayal, and in some sectors we have to get down the horse and pull our horses by the reins. Along the trail we can see how the vegetation gradually gets shrubby as we climb. The cascade is formed by Las Piedritas brook, with a 50 m. fall over a canyon of glacial origin covered by green ferns and multi-colored flowers. |

There we just relax, contemplate nature in all its splendor and take some pictures before we ride back to the start point.
After this training ride you can find out about the 9 hour ride to Cajón Negro crossing zones with coihue trees and cane thickets until you get to a lenga forest. |

The most intrepid ones can go to Valle Encantado, a three-day ride leaving from Villa Llanquín and passing by the Limay river, through rocky areas of singular beauty with cave paintings of the old inhabitants of this place. |
