At Av. Hipólito Irigoyen 2385, the Jean Rivier Winery opens its doors to visitors to show them the processes of growing, selecting and making their wines, getting positioned as one of the few wine-growing and wine-making facilities in the southern area of the Province of Mendoza.
This family business started by don Jean Rivier -Swiss-French immigrant- in the year 1956, uses modern wine growing and making techiniques by means of which the natural taste of their vines is highlighted.

When going into the facilities, which is run by its owners, the various rooms and machines used for wine-making can be seen.
Then we pass by the reception and milling plant where the vines are received in order to start treatment for the winemaking process. There we can see the stainless steel winepress, the conveyor belt, the crusher-stemmer and the press.
The winery fermentation plant is furnished with eighteen 100 and 200 hl casks, with stainless steel temperature exchanger plaques, through which water at 2ºC circulates. The French casks, from Troncais and Allier, used for keeping the wine reach a total storage capacity of 225 liters.

The Jean Rivier Winery has a laboratory equipped with all the necessary instruments and drugs for the performance of routine analysis, microbiological controls and tests of wine stability during the making and conservation processes and before bottling. Thus, the quality and stability of the products made there are guaranteed.
Finally, in the tasting room, where a special atmosphere for the customized assitance of tourists and customers has been created, the various varietals made at the winery may be tasted and acquired.

Saturdays from 8:00am to 11:00pm.
