Gustavo knows that very few aircrafts let travelers feel their body suspended in the air like paragliding does. That is why he shows so much enthusiasm when he promises tourists they will experience a unique flight. Apart from being in charge of Neyen Mapu, Gustavo del Valle is a pilot and also a member of the Free Flight Argentinian Federation, which depends on the International Aeronautics Federation.
In the beautiful lanscape of Laguna Brava Village, he makes an invitation to enjoy this adventure where only the soft whistling of paragliding and hang gliding fasteners can be heard.
The quiet Balcarce Mountain Range is the ideal scenery to get in contact with nature and feel like a bird. Adventure begins with a 25-minute hike trekking to the summit. At this point, Gustavo, in his role of flight guide, assesses the weather conditions so as to determine if they are good enough to fly. He also gives a brief explanation about the characteristics of free flight and answers all the questions. |

It is important to know that the experience begins in a slight slope with an ascending glide and not with a leap into the void.
It is not necessary for those who are interested in practicing paragliding to have any previous experience.
Besides baptism flights, mountain biking and rock climbing may be practiced in La Barrosa mount.
For those who want to improve their paragliding abilities, Neyen Mapu offers complete courses on weekends to allow students who live far from the flying area to attend.
The Essence of Free Flight
Not only does Gustavo know the theory and practice of paragliding, but he also shares the history of this fascinating flying sport with the visitors. |

It is thought that paragliding flight was first practiced by mountaineers who, longing to find other ways to conquer new summits, used parachute equipments to get to the base camps faster. With the parachutes spread on the ground behind them, the mountaineers used to run in order to inflate the fabric wings and thus take off and go down within a few minutes only to climb back on foot and start it all over.
So, the word “paragliding” derives from “parachute” and “gliding”. It is the height difference between the take-off and landing areas what makes the flight possible. This functions as the paragliding’s “engine”. The static air the paraglide travels through is always going down.
The new parachutes are not only safer but also make it possible to enjoy longer flights across wonderful landscapes.
However, in addition to technical innovations, man’s longing for flying goes beyond any form of transport.
