It is important to point out that the venue is temporarily closed due to force majeure and that, even though the necessary proceedings are being carried out in order to resume daily activities in short, the precise date on which it will reopen cannot be informed yet. For such reason, we recommend contacting the venue in order to program your visit.
In the northern area of Lanín National Park, there lie the wonderful “miraculous waters”, according to the meaning of their name in the Mapuche tongue. |
Visiting Lahuen Có hot springs implies being willing to enjoy a wonderful relax. The beauty of the lakes and forests is unquestionable; a spa at that very spot is a dream come true.
We made contact with Gustavo, one of the owners of this family business, in order to enjoy one day at the spa, which included yoga lessons, hiking tours and harmonizing massage sessions. |
We left the city very early following the road that leads to Lolog along Provincial Route 62. Then we passed by the Curruhué Chico, a small monkey-puzzle tree woodland area, the Curruhué Grande and the Escorial. Each of these places was simply great, a clear and realistic expression of nature.
Finally, we got to the pier in the company of Gustavo. This is the site where the boat that crosses Lake Epulafquen from Paimún Inn to the hot springs is moored. The weather conditions were perfect: the sky was clear and it was a bright sunny day. |

Gustavo told us about the natural harmony one may experience in these wonderful surroundings. Of course, as it was to be expected, the architecture of the resort was lovely. The constructions were made of stone, caña colihue and wood, and both the spa and the restaurant open up to the scenery around.
Sara welcomed us and, as we enjoyed a cup of delicate cedron and chamomile tea, she told us about the program. Some minutes later, we headed for the Lahuen Có main spring, a pool containing chloride, carbonates, sulfur and iron at a steady temperature of 63º. This water is provided to the entire venue. Furthermore, it heats all spaces and is also used in the spa pools. |

Vanina, the yoga instructor, gave us an introductory lesson which ended with some brief meditation, ideal to relax. As it finished, we were ready to dive into the spa.
The session started. It consisted in getting into the various pools for 5 to 15 minutes, with temperatures ranging between 37º to 41º, and featuring hydro-jets for massage. In order to reactivate circulation, this experience may be alternated with the Vichy shower. |
Already relaxed, it was time for lunch. The Lahuen Có restaurant had prepared a Patagonian menu, ideal for the occasion. We chose green salad with chicken and almonds, trout for the main course and an irresistible chocolate volcano for dessert.
The perfect finale came when Gustavo invited us to visit the Oconi River cascade. It lies very close to the venue and it is easily accessed. Once again, it was the water which was inviting us to behold in silence. |
