The City of Junín de los Andes is a typical mountain range village and it features various tourist attractions that year after year captivate a great deal of visitors who come along to fish its large trout, climb its precious Lanín Volcano or practice adventure activities related to hiking in the surroundings.

During the summertime, the presence of the Lanín Volcano lures visitors, mostly youths, who stay at the city and hire experienced guides to go up its summit.

Fishing rainbow trout and salmon is another local interest. History goes that the greatest fly-fishermen of all times caught their trophies here. They used to stay at the famous Chimehuín Inn, built in 1947 on the local riverfront. They would come all the way down from the Federal District and from abroad, seduced by the rivers and by an emblematic spot near this city: the mouth of the Chimehuín River, at Lake Huechulafquen.

Visitors may see the many sights, such as the first post office building, San Martín Square, the parish church, Mary of the Snow and Laura Vicuña’s sanctuary and a great number of municipal buildings whose architecture is a must see.

Inns, cabins, apartments and camping sites are part of the hotel and accommodation offer proposed by this small but beautiful city. There is even a casino which not only tempts luck but also serves as a meeting point where people enjoy shows presented by artists that visit the city every month.
