We visited the city bathing resorts to make contact with the littoral scenery. A day full of sunshine, water and soft sands, ideal to relax and feel that carnival is not everything.

Touring the banks of the Gualeguaychú River in the summer is a calm and pleasant experience that contacts visitors with the littoral scenery, its secrets and its people.
This ideal spot for those who wish to enjoy a well-deserved rest does offer the appropriate frame to practice various water sports, fishing and swimming. Its bathing resorts become alive with the arrival of people who approach the area at very early hours in order to find a good site on the soft sands surrounded by the soft green foliage.
The good infrastructure on the banks of the Gualeguaychú and Uruguay Rivers is the reason why thousands of tourists choose this place to get away on the weekend or any time in the year. |

Hotels, cabins, recreational camping sites, restaurants and coffee-shops are distributed along the entire area of the coast. Some of the most outstanding bathing resorts located close to the city are Ñandubaysal, Costa Azul, Puerta del Sol, Norte, Sur and Solar del Este. All of them are furnished with very comfortable facilities, ideal to enjoy an intense day until sunset. Some of these bathing resorts are municipal whereas there are others which belong to private hands and charge visitors with a modest rate.
As we passed by the city, we visited these very beautiful sites and discovered the charm of their sceneries and the friendly accent of their visitors.
The beaches, teeming with people, seemed to move to the rhythm of the music, providing a good rest and the freshness of the temperate waters of the Gualeguaychú River.
When it was time for fun, beach volleyball, soccer or aerobic exercising became the protagonists. Fun also slided on the water, where a giant inflatable banana ridden by a group of youngsters was pulled by a small raft at great speed. Participants had to remain on the banana as long as they could, in spite of the zigzagging curves drawn on the surface of the water. Very amusing. |

Finally, we chose to stay at the Solar del Este bathing resort in order to enjoy the sunshine and the water bathing this city of Entre Ríos. We lay on a palm tree log. We watched the people enjoying the river, card games with friends and “tereré” mates (poured with cold water) all over the place and women getting tanned under the hot summer sun. We understood that mentioning Gualeguaychú implies many more things than just carnival. |
