Adventure sports lovers find in the surroundings of El Calafate the possibility to do many activities, but if you wish to many of them, you should visit Estancia María Elisa. |
 |
o get to the cask of the estancia you should ask for directions in any of the tourist agencies in the city, and drive 40 km. from El Calafate passing by Río Bote.
This cask was built in 1940 and is immersed in the pristine valley of the river Bote, protected from patagonian winds, what makes it an ideal place for outings .
One of the possibilities is Tyrolese jumping very near the cask of the estancia in an easily accessible spot. This jump consists in sliding suspended from a cable and tied with harnesses through a canyon of approximately 50 m. It is fun and apt for all ages.
Another possibility is to ride a tame horse through the beautiful landscape of the valley and the mountains, or climb rocks and plateaus to panoramic points after crossing the river while you watch animals and plants, an outing that takes approximately two hours. |
 |
Experimented visitors may descend through ravines on the shore of the river Bote combining rappel and cross country techniques some 2 km. from the cask. In the highest point you will start descending the walls of the ravine using ropes and harnesses.
You can also walk to panoramic points or sites of geological interest, or get into the steppe where you will feel really part of the region. In this case remember to carry films to take photographs. |
|
After visiting the glacier, do not miss this opportunity to mingle with nature and enjoy adventure in this special environment. |
