Near the city of Colón, there are two hot spring resorts worth visiting. One of them is Villa Elisa, with salt water, 30 minutes from Colón, and the other one, which belongs to the city of San José, has fresh waters and is a few minutes away from Colón. |

Salt Water in Villa Elisa
The hot spring resort is located approximately 30 minutes from Colón and 5 minutes from the small city Villa Elisa. Here, unlike Colón and San José, the hot spring features salt waters with a temperature of 41º C.
Seven pools of different characteristics, an artificial lake to practice nautical sports and some tracks ideal for a walk or a bicycle ride are part of this attractive site.
Apart from thermal baths, visitors can enjoy kinesiology sessions, relaxing and decontracting masotherapy, as well as relaxing massage or cosmetic treatments. There are also entertainment activities planned for the day, like yoga and tai chi chuan.
Apart from the hot springs which are visited by hundreds of tourists during the weekends, Villa Elisa is a beautiful rural city which offers different tours, like visiting the Virgen Niña church, the Monument to Sowing, El Porvenir farm and its mini zoo.
Its beach area Rocha and its famous historical train include a variety of activities to get out of the pools, at least for a while. |

Fresh Water in Villa San José
The city of San José, the “Cradle of Civilization”, offers a hot spring resort whose facilities include hydromassage pools as well as various kinds of cosmetic treatments, mud therapy, spa, and decontracting and relaxing massage sessions.
There are two kinds of pools: some for visitors to be quiet and relax, and others for recreation.
Swimming is not allowed in the former, and physical movements should be as slow as possible, in order not to alter the peaceful atmosphere. On the other hand, in the recreational pools it is possible to move, and even swim. These pools, which are preferred by the youngest, are the gathering point of those guests who intend to make a recreational use of the resort. |

The purpose of this resort is to ensure relax, whether in the pools or in the surrounding park. Therefore, many times prior booking is required in order to avoid interrupting quietness with a high number of guests.

The hot springs are an ideal spot to rest, whether in winter or in the hot summers. The staff in both resorts is trained and qualified to control the duration of baths. Therefore, it is advisable to pay attention to what doctors say, even though we would like to stay longer.
