The 7 Cascades and the Creek

This is one of the most delightful creeks in the Province of Buenos Aires and, before it ends at the sea, it offers visitors a most interesting tour: small waterfalls.

The tour consists in a 5-kilometer stretch leading to the site where Claromecó Creek is located, right before it empties into the sea.

The famous seven cascades amaze visitors as they leave from Puerto Mosquito and follow the creek course downstream, whether by car or on a kayak or a canoe. Amusement is guaranteed for those who wish to be protagonists of this singular adventure.

It is ideal to sail the creek in groups. The ride is an invitation to float comfortably and learn how to handle a watercraft in the water. It is perfect for children who are starting to paddle.

We departed from Puerto Mosquito, a site spotted from the bridge and the meeting point for those who wish to sail this nice freshwater way.

Claromecó Creek wanders about the center of Claromecó, but its last kilometers feature several natural cascades that represent a tourist attraction.

In order to set out on this circuit, visitors must start at 15 Avenue on the corner of 26 Street, towards small Dunamar. This tour follows a road that runs parallel to the river, from where each of the falls may be observed. The seventh cascade is the biggest.

As the creek is followed, the local natural wildlife is a constant companion. There are all kinds of birds that usually nestle along the waterway. For instance, the famous burrowing parrots that make up a real show once they start to screech.

The creek is an excellent site for children to have their first fishing experiences, as the tide brings the silverside, the mullets and even the carps. However, the most precious fish in the mouth area is the sole.

But even though the creek may be enjoyed on foot, the watercrafts for rent at Puerto Mosquito (canoes and kayaks) will give shape to a completely different tour. Thus, visitors succeed in mingling with the flora and fauna of this environment, just as if they were a part of it.
