Certain tours have been specially designed for visitors to remember them for good. This is one of them: flying over the 7 lakes, landing at San Martín de los Andes, touring around Lanín National Park and ending up at the new hot springs in Lahuen-Co. What else can we ask for? |
There is a tour that takes us down to one of the most incredible and unspoiled nooks in Northern Patagonia. The idea is to start at the airport of Bariloche and fly on a light aircraft along the Andes Mountain Range over one of the most beautiful and incredible areas in the Lake District.
This area, best known as the 7 Lakes but made up by over twenty that may be spotted from the heights, is a delight for everyone. |
As we reach the City of San Martín de los Andes, all adventurers are amazed. Below, the exquisite city is nestled among the mountains resting on the shores of Lake Lácar. In the distance, the cautious but magnificent silhouette of the Lanín Volcano may be observed.
It still hides volcanic phenomena of extraordinary beauty, highly interesting for visitors: the majestic conical volcano with the glacier on its top, the Escorial -a lava tongue that occupies over 7 kilometers and enters the lake in the shape of a delta of petrified lava-, several craters and beaches of black sand. |
 |
Shortly after landing at Chapelco airport, a guide picks visitors up to lead them through the adventure towards the most fascinating and best preserved stretch of Lanín National Park.
Thus, we tour around the steppe up to the Valdivian rainforest. There is a succession of forests, seven unspoiled lakes and monkey-puzzle tree woodlands. We stop for a memorable hiking tour on the Escorial, which contains a real forest of natural bonsai trees.

To crown the day, we reach Lahuen Co, eco resort and hot spring spa. This secluded mountain hot spring spa, unique in Argentina serves as a base for expeditions to the wilderness and a source of quality services such as accommodation, gastronomy and wellness services, including small hot spring pools whose waters feature different temperatures, professional massage and hot spring mud. Undoubtedly, the best way to rest.
As the day ends, visitors may return either by plane or stay at Lahuen Co, a strategic site to continue their way towards Chile or other sites in Argentinian Patagonia.
