Horseback Ride on Mount Campanario

The idea is to go along a winding mountain trail on horseback to hit the summit of Mount Campanario and get to see it from another point of view, enjoying contact with nature in a more direct way.

This is tour that can be enjoyed with the family, as it does not imply any kind of risk. In order to reach the starting point, riders must travel along Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue up to the 15.5th kilometer marker and turn left. Three blocks ahead, they can find Tom Wesley’s venue, where the horseback rides to Mount Campanario start.

These tours are led by a local guide who tells riders about the features of the areas crossed and the native wildlife species dwelling in them.

We rode a tame horse, used to going up and down steep sloes along narrow trails. These rides last for approximately two hours. The managers of the venue have paid special attention to the saddles so that visitors may enjoy a comfortable outing.

It was not until everything was ready that we set out in the surroundings of Mount Campanario through a woodland area teeming with various species.

A few minutes afterwards, we were already immersed in a hundred-year-old forest and crossing some clearings and meadows. As we climbed, we could appreciate the vastness of Lake Nahuel Huapi to the right.

We practically reached the summit and caught the most amazing panoramic sights of the area.

As we rode on, the slope became steeper and steeper. It is always recommended to follow the steps of the horse ridden by the guide, as some parts the trail go along the mountain ridge, featuring a view of the valley, completely covered with vegetation and crossed by creeks.

From the heights, we could see Lake Moreno, Lake El Trébol (The Clover) and Mount López. As we reached the top, panoramic photographs became the protagonist. We remained there for some minutes and then started our way back following a shortcut towards the starting point.
