La Cantina
Located in the center of the city of Balcarce, La Cantina is a family undertaking which dates back from 1994. An environment that is cozy and elegant at the same time rules in this restaurant specialized in grilled meat. María Teresa, one of its owners, recommends guests to try asado al asador or the hearty parrillada La Cantina.
Treatment is extremely polite, the menue is varied and there are plenty of suggestions for starters as well as for homemade pasta.
Ruta 55
Raúl Colavita is the great host at “Ruta 55”. Sitting at the table and waiting for his suggestions is practically a ritual in this restaurant. With a large menu, the owner usually prefers to recommend pasta, truly homemade, or grilled meat, with various delicious cutlets. When it comes to dessert, the one titled “Lorenzo” –named after a usual customer– is the house's favourite for its particular combination: it is a piece of Balcarce dessert plus an ice-cream ball with raspberries, a temptation hard to resist. |

The customized assitance provided at Ruta 55 is excellent and its decoration is very striking. Intense colors predominate on its walls, where hundreds of caps and ties are displayed, most of them autographed by celebrities. The collection includes approximately 300 caps and are related to car races, especially Road Racing. As regards the ties, Raúl explains that they are presents his customers have given him during the 25 years of existence of this cozy restaurant. |

Ruta 55: Mondays thru Saturdays at noon and in the evening. Closed on Sundays and holidays.
